Re painted El degas LP copy

Postby wedge14 » Sun Jun 27, 2010 8:21 pm

I know next to nothing about this guitar. I'm a bit of a hobbyist when it comes to painting and repairing guitars and my old man came across this while he was doing a job. The guy gave it to him and then gave it was given to me. It's obviously been refinished blue with no topcoat. The pots were snapped and it only had 4 out of the six tuners, and none of the covers. I picked up some replacements that would make it playable, strung it up and started playing it. Crappy pictures ahoy! (those aren't my cigarettes)

I'm more of a thinline tele guy, so i'm not used to hauling around something this heavy, but i really like this guitar, and the guy who decided to repaint it did a decent job, I wonder what colour it originally was.

Nice to see an old ED getting some use from someone who'll appreciate her. Nice Nordiques hat!

Ha thanks! Given the shape it was in when i got it, i might drop in some different pick ups. Does anyone know if normal les paul covers will work on the back? Also I haven't had a hockey team since 1995, but i'm pretty sure i've been adopted by the sharks!

Gibson USA parts are usually NOT straight drop-in size for these... your experience may vary.

I've had decent luck with import-sized parts (made to match Epiphone and other imports)
