That's a really nice stable of Traynors you have there.

That Mystery Box is mysterious!

Here are some random shots of my music room from a while back.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

You bet it is.

It's amazingly loud. Shame it doesn't get turned up anymore. I've been considering selling it to someone who can crank it up again.

I considered becoming as obsessed with Garnet amps as I did with El Degas but darn if they haven't gone way up in price. And I tend to just play unplugged or into the computer anyway. I'd grab a little Blackheart Killer Ant if they weren't so expensive up here in Canada (atrociously priced, in fact).
(RIP Gar Gillies.)

Wow , my collection seems so.....inadequate
My electric collection has grown by 2 in just the past 2 weeks - I bought an OLP MM1 from a guy here locally - great little guitar and the closest I could ever justify to getting a real Music man and I can pretend to play like EVH (well at least look the part  . I also had a bit of a rare 12 string by Standel (made by Harptone) from the mid 60's. Problem was I rarely played it and it deserved to be played so I made a trade for a guy Friday for a mint Hagstrom Ultra Swede with EMG's in it.

I had a Line 6 Spider III 30W amp but recently sold it along with a Sqiuer strat I had a week or 2 ago and picked up an Orange Crush 15. If you ever get a chance to try one of these, do it. You will not believe the sound of these little things. I was sold on the spot at the music store.

As for effects , I sold most of them a long time ago before my 17 year playing hiatus. I picked up a nice little Digitech RP 150 - It does everything and the kitchen sink too and is all I need anymore. Pretty good at amp modelling too but I find with the Orange I just use the effect strings now.

Cool gear - can't say I've ever seen a Hagstrom with EMGs in it before!

I had listed 3 types of guitars in my ad I was interested in trading for and a Hagstrom wasn't one of them. The price locally on them was @ $200-$300 more than I thought the Standel was worth so when this guy offered an even trade I had to take a look. What sold me is the neck. It is @ 18mm thick , great for smaller hands. The finish on the guitar with the maple top was also an eye catcher. I don't know what I think of the EMG's yet though. They certainly sound great with a lot of distortion and the neck pickup is coil tapped ( all Ultra Swedes have a factory coil tap) But for a bluesy tone, wait for it..... the El-Degas kicks it's butt. I have to play with it some more though . I'm sure I'll find a sweet spot.
