Need a copy LP!

Hey everyone, I am a 16 year old kid and my dad has bought me two guitars, built me another and taught me how to build guitars which resulted in a kick-ass guitar. I need a way to say thank you. His first guitar was an El Degas copy Les Paul and he always talks about how he wishes he never got rid of it. So I really want to get him one. I live in Ontario Canada and a local selling point would be easiest for me. I would prefer a model from sometime 1970's but any will really do.

Hopefully someone will have one for sale for you. If not, take a look at your local Craigslist & Kijiji listings - Ontario seems to get the lion's share of El Degas listings.

Yup, check out the Kijiji and Craigslist postings regularly. You'll easily find an LP el Degas. Lots around these days.

I asked my dad about his first guitar and he said that the colour for it was Tobacco Burst. So, now I'm looking for a El Degas copy Les Paul with Tobacco Burst.

Ad is in Quebec and in French... but it's a tobacco burst El Degas LP copy.

If those are the original pups it may very well be NOS and in unplayed condition! Outstanding!
HSC included too. I'd grab this at once if you're serious. You're unlikely to find anything else this pristine!

I have seen some EL Degas guitars with the Dimarzio stickers still on the pickups before.

I guess some people wanted to always know they had Dimarzios

But yes, that guitar looks to be in amazing condition.

As much as I would like to be able to get that one, it's just too far away for me to get. Like I said, I'm just a kid. I don't have a credit card or a pay-pay account. I dont have a cheque (check) book and I don't even know how I would set up a shipping deal with someone that isn't a website like Amazon. Unfortunately, it seems the only way for me to get one is to drive and pay cash.

It might take you quite a while to find a Tobacco burst LP in your area, but don't give up. Check the Kijiji & Craigslist listings every week and you might just get lucky. I would even post a "wanted" ad on Kijiji and see if that spurs someone to contact you if they have one that they have been thinking of selling but have not gotten around to it.

Also, be safe should you be going to pick up a guitar from a stranger. Try to set up the exchange in a public place.

I have a El Degas tobacco sunburst LP in very good condition from approx 1984 (made in Japan). I live in St. Catharines ON.
