Alembic / artist copy

Post by sambonee »

So there is a guy in Sault Ste. Marie who is selling same guitar that I have.

Is it just me, or is this person lying through his teeth? I mean really, would anyone actually pay $1800 for this guitar. Even at $700 this guitar is almost priced at 2 1/2 times what it's worth. Any comments? This one is the bolts on next version.

What do you think this guitar should be worth?

Well, there's no way I would pay anything more than $200-300 for this guitar... but this fellow is welcome to try asking 8 bills for it. :? Someone might think it's worth that much, or be able to haggle him down to a lower price.

I don't see him lying about it in the description. His description is factual about the specs of the guitar and he doesn't make any other claims (has the ad description changed since you first saw it?).
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Yeah, I saw that one. Made me larf!
Nice instrument but not worth $800, even to a hard core ED fan.
