Hi there...
Im new to the site ad i think its really interesting!
I have a El Degas Les Paul black beauty with a setneck since 1990.(i will put pictures later) I've got it from my guitar teacher for 150$... One of the best buy i've ever did!
Anyway... I know he have this for 5 years before i buy it and im not sure if he got it brand new or used.
There is a serial number on the last fret, it is 10271. Its an uncommon thing i think... so i would like to now if somebody have any infos on the year it can be and if its a MIJ or a MIK. Im sure the body and the neck are made with mahogany cause there is some small scratch on the painting.
i plan to do a major makeover on my guitar: change the tuners to put Gibson's, Change all the wiring probably for Gibson's too and a couple of other things...maybe the stop bar and the tune-o-matic.. not sure yet. The only things i will keep is the 2 Dimarzio pups(PAF on the neck and SD on the bridge) cause they sounds really great for blues playing.
So if someone have any info on my `` wrong name Gibson Les Paul`` because its the same kind of playing as a real LP, please answer me... Thanks!
El Degas LP Black Beauty questions
Re: El Degas LP Black Beauty questions
I'd have to see photos including the headstock to tell whether it's MIJ or MIK.
If your teacher bought it in the mid 80's (new) I'd assume it's MIK.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
