Post by gb29 »

hi there: i own an el degas gb29 bought in the mid 70s new. said to be the clone to the j200 gibson is that right anybody? it does resemble very closely to it. it has a very good tone, everywhere i play and sing they want to know about the guitar. mine is made in japan, wondering how many were built there. it has a larch top and maple side and back. would like to hear from anybody who has a gb29. yours truly pete

Hi there GB29,
Yup, you would appear to have Gibson J200 clone. :P

It's hard to confirm without pictures, so how about some pix?

I'm not a huge acoustic player, but the GB-29 is one I've always lusted after... I'd love to see some photos if you have any. :)
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
