Love this guitar....It's become my favorite. Got it from a pawn shop 3 weeks ago. It was pretty dirty and one of the tuning keys was not working properly...All it needed was tightening up and then as I cleaned it all the scum came off to reveal a mint condition Japanese gem...Barely a mark on it.....It even has a little "bling" going for it. This is as close as your going to get to the sound and quality of a 70s Martin in a replica guitar....I paid $75. "START THE CAR HONEY"!!!!!
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
Another beauty Lorne.
For a long time I've had suspicions that many of the ED Les Paul models and acoustics originated at the Matsumoku plant. They turned out some stellar instruments under a variety of labels, including Westone and some Aria.
The pictures are not the best but this model looks very much like it could be your ED: http://www.westoneguitars.net/guitars/w-20-acoustic/
I would also say that your machine heads were replaced at some point with the Gotoh style.
