MY FOLLOW UP EL DEGAS !!!!!! GUSTO FOR THE DEGAS LOVERS!
Re: MY FOLLOW UP EL DEGAS !!!!!! GUSTO FOR THE DEGAS LOVERS!
Until facts prevail, I like the nostalgia of late '60 early '70. I back this up as the earlier the models, the higher the quality. It's one of my best guitars for sure.

Oh yes please! We're starved here for anything in writing about the ED brand.charles wrote:...If you come across that magazine advert definitely let us know!

Well I had to buy it. I got the matching bass to this one. The I Lu thing left is to start a ZZ top cover band. Pics soon

Better get started on that beard, Sean.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

Re: MY FOLLOW UP EL DEGAS !!!!!! GUSTO FOR THE DEGAS LOVERS!
Greetings, I just purchased a twin to the posted EL-980 El Degas neck-thru guitar at the local Valu-Village for $169. It's been sitting around neglected for quite some time but is all original with what I assume is the original 1970s era case. It has a bit of buckle rash on the back but should clean up nicely. It's quite an attractive instrument and I'm looking forward to getting it back on the road for a test drive. If anyone has any kind of catalogue for these guitars I'd be interested in getting a link.
Thanks
Thanks

Great deal man. Good stuff. I have and extra matching bass if you wanna buy it.
Anyway, great guitars, I'd personally change the pickups to a lower output PAF style HB. Let's see some pics.

I "should" have some pictures posted in the next week or so for the EL 980. Thanks for the offer on the bass, but I'm really not much of a bass player ..... although if it was cheap enough maybe I could learn ...
Re: MY FOLLOW UP EL DEGAS !!!!!! GUSTO FOR THE DEGAS LOVERS!
I'd sell the bass for $400. Now it's not your steal but it was just setup and all wiring checked ect... And has a case. A $300 case. Think about it.

Thanks .... I'll muse on that ..... but to be honest I'd be more likely to spend the cash on a guitar since i'm quite possibly the world's worst bass player. A nice piece though!

Nice Orange strings on your #786 bass Sambonee.
Yours only has a pair of Dimarzio pick-ups on it.
This one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTsjao4HEZc has a bridge pick-up. It also has a lot more switches that yours. 1 is a pick-up selector, the other three...no idea. Coil taps? Polarity adjust? Dunno.

I have that one too. It's a neck thru design. Mine doesn't have all the mini switches. That's much like the BC Rich designs from that epoch.
I changed out the pickups and it's world class. Without exception.

Mine is like the one in the video, with a set neck with all the switches. Probably coil tap for each pickup, and then maybe a phase switchSoulSurgeon wrote:This one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTsjao4HEZc has a bridge pick-up.
