I've been doing a bit of research lately on guitar wiring and I discovered an excellent set of videos on YouTube from JohnPlanetZ. They're extremely well done and presented in HD to boot!

As of this writing there are about 35 clips in the series, including volume and tone pots, bleed capactitors and resistors, and switching and pickups. Really great reference stuff:

I'm sure you'll find your answer in the section on capacitors.

All done. My friend, and most awesome bassist has taken care of the electronics of this guitar for me. I've been playing it through my last two band practices and noodling with it at home during that period. It plays great and with that 70's Dimarzio SD at the bridge it roars like an angry lion. It was my goal to make this (the first guitar I ever owned) my number one, and guess what, yeah it is. Now I need to do something with the stratoid and I can sell the surfcaster and then start a new project. I'm thinking of acquiring an explorer copy and wrapping it in a zz-top-esque fur coat.

Thanks to all you guys for the advice and support in this project, pictures to come soon.
