Hi. My name is "telekafunkle": Avid musician, guitar player, and guitar collector.
My guitars are:
-Dean Dime Black Bolt
-Vintage V100 Lemon Drop Les Paul
-Fender Telecaster
-Fender Squier Bullet Stratocaster
-Cort G250
-Fender Squier Stagemaster
-GK Bass Guitar
Amps:
Vox AD50VT
YorkVille 50KW Power Wedge
Washburn BadDog
Roland Micro-Cube 15
Effects:
-Digitech RP200
-Boss GT-8
-ART SGX-2000 With X-15 UltraFoot Midi Foot-Controller
So, there is my "main stuff", without recording "items", etc, etc.
I joined this forum in hope to meet people who are knowledged on the "El Degas" guitar brand, and this seems like the right place.
No, I do not have a El Degas, but in the process of deciding. I have a "Cort G250 guitar". Very nice guitar, but I do not play it much. I recently played a circa. 1970's "El Degas Les Paul Custom guitar". The neckplate says "Made In Japan", which, from reading some "stuff" on this forum, is apprently segificant?
The one I want is Purple, has volume and tone knob indicators, and binding with a "worn white" or "cream" type colour. Thank gosh that the name on the headstock was not taken off, like I have seen on this forum...Someone posted one of theirs, that looked SIMILAR to mine, but is WAY worse condition, with the name attempted to be sanded off...The one I am looking at is in good condition, other than some "buckle rash" on the back...Like most I have seen.
I do not like newer Gibsons: Over-priced and sometimes, even have frets popping out, straight from the factory...My "Vintage V100 Lemon Drop Les Paul" I prefer MUCH more than Gibsons, and actually, I find the El Degas the same...In all honesty, I don't like it more than my "Vintage", but is a close 1st...I am in the market, or have been for a while, for a 1970's Les Paul copy guitar, especially the ones that originally have no names on the headstock (came factory, not sanded...Though, most could be sanded, then the headstock painted), but I think I found my Les Paul: The El Degas...
So, just finding some info, and wanting to enjoy another forum.
Thanks!
