I have owned an El Degas studio custom in the past and no other guitar has ever played quite like it, and I have always liked the look of Les Pauls, so when I found this ad on kijiji for an El Degas LP arch top my heart started beating a little faster. It does look to be in amazing shape, but it seems like a lot of money for an old guitar when I can go buy a new Epiphone LP for $500. Is it worth it?

What is this arch top worth?
Re: What is this arch top worth?
I would not pay that much for it, but that's me. I've paid far less than that for every El Degas Les Paul copy I own/have owned (quite a few!), including set neck LP Custom copies.
As for the ad saying it is an "exact copy", every 3-pickup El Degas LP Black Beauty copy I have seen has been a bolt on... so, this may not be an "exact copy". Be sure to ask the seller questions and request more photos.
The 3-pickup Black Beauty copy does not come up too often, but I'd still try to haggle that price down a fair bit.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
