Hi Folks
first post here on the forum.....

i've just bought an El Degas Flying V .....i would describe the colour as "lipstick red"....white scratchplate and ebony fingerboard ....it's a nice guitar...

basically my questions are ....

any idea when it was made ?

is the fingerboard ebony ?

it had gold speedknobs on it ....were they original ?

how would you describe the colour ?

and there's a small switch apart from the pickup selector ....is that a coil tap ?...

and anything else you can tell me would be appreciated ...thanks :D

If it's like mine, it's a transparent red (similar to what Gibson calls their Heritage Cherry) and is a MIJ (made in Japan) model from somewhere in the 70s. Fingerboard of mine is rosewood, the mini switch is either a coil tap or a phase switch (I really am not sure which). The speedknobs are probably replacements, but it's hard to say (if you are wanting to change them I would do so without reservation - it won't affect the value in any way, in my opinion).

If I see some photos I'll get a better idea of what you have and whether it's the same model as mine or not.
