what is this

got this the other day. The price was to good to pass it up; but what is it;. Any info, like when they made this sucker, etc would be great. Thinking of scalloping the fretboard????? What do you think.

That's an 80's MIK (Made in Korea) Strat copy.
Watch when you are doing the scalloping - the fretboard is likely stained/painted black so you will uncover whatever wood is under there; and you may wish to re-stain it if you like the black.
