Hello Stndbck, and thanks for the pictures. Can you tell us something about the history of this guitar? When was it purchased and where for example?
The "F" in the model number usually indicates a Fender copy but El Degas was not always consistent with this. To my eye the headstock on this one looks more Gibson-ish.

I have a theory about the F- prefix copies.

NOW BEAR IN MIND this is only a theory!!!

I think the F- prefix copies are from early on in the El Degas timeline, before moving to the standardized prefixes I've identified elsewhere. You also tend to notice some attempt at a serial numbering system with some of the F- prefix copies, which also makes me think that these might be from early on.

Now, if this theory is correct (and I'm not totally confident that it is, myself), would this make this guitar any better/worse/more valuable/less valuable than other El Degas guitars? I doubt it. :|
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
