Some of you will surely remember this one... I went and met with a certain Mr. Wolf and bought this very nice The Paul copy... Have to say, I am really pleased with the condition she is in. Here are some new pics of her:
Wolf advised me that these came with the guitar as the original tuners... These are Gotoh tuners that would make sense. Charles, can you confirm these are what you have on yours...
Hey Pierre, you sneaky guy you!
Haven't seen you around here in ages and then you score a nice one!
I wish I had had the money to buy this myself, but I'm glad she's going to a good home!
Are you sure you have room at your house after all those Matsumoku's you've picked up lately?
Let me know what you think of her.
Was not planning on buying this one but Wolf sent me an email in the last couple of weeks for this one... I did not have the funds but worked something out with Wolf... We met, have to say hes a real nice fellow. He also brought his Hofner guitar, that was a nice piece of equipment....
So far, did not have the time to try it out since went and got the recent Aria as you saw.... Had to borrow money for that one
Will be tryng it out and set her up to my liking and will give you my opinion... As you know, been wanting a Vantage The Paul for a while now, this is just perfect but will still get one of the Vantage eventually and compare the two since I am positive this is a MATT made guitar.
I was considering going for this one, but I'm glad you got it.
Those look like the same tuners as I have.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Thanks Charles, have to say that I am happy that you passed on it!
This is a very nice guitar. Wolfs comment on it having a killer set neck is not exagerated... Apart from a few blemishes this thing is pratically brand spanking new. I really wish that I did have a Vantage copy of this to compare... Pratically the only Vantage that I am missing...

Thanks for that! These are also the same tuners Aria-Matsumoku was using during the same years...

If it had still been for sale after I got back from next month's vacation it probably would be mine

Glad to hear you say that Pierre! I expressed much the same comment in Wolf's original post. I think Charles must be getting tired of hearing me reference Mats so much, but it's pretty clear at times that many of the obviously high quality MIJ El Degas guitars and basses did indeed come from Uncle Mats' factory! Nice to come to that conclusion.

Nope!
It's good to point out the good'uns.
