Not mine, good luck everyone. I have the same model and it's pretty darn fun, just watch that neck joint (mine had to be beefed up by the previous owner)! As it is a copy of the '61 SG, there is less wood at that neck joint than your modern SG's.

I know cherry red is the traditional colour for these things but I prefer the white.
Charles, just curious, when you said your neck was beefed up at the body join, what exactly was done to it? I've often looked at this design and wondered just how strong the join was. Granted the guitar tends to be super light which helps I suppose. But still, the leverage there can be severe if given the wrong pressure.

The previous owner had his luthier put a small neck plate on with two screws into the neck joint.
It's still a pretty flimsy neck joint even with the neck plate - the guitar can be made to go out of tune with a little pressure on the neck , sort of like how tele players do a bend by depressing the strings at the nut, only much scarier. Therefore the SG is definitely a guitar I tend to "baby"!

Jeez, I would think that screws would weaken the joint, not strengthen it, unless they're into the body. (I assume the joint is a mortise/tennon type joint?)
A plate stiffens things but only if the screws are well set into the base of a neck designed for such attachment. This still sounds awful scary to me.

They are through the body and into the neck tenon. It's pretty solid. But yes, scary.
