It's always sort of strange to think of a guitar sitting in a case for 30 years... something that is built to be played just sitting there, waiting.
I know some of my guitars don't get much attention for the span of many months, but 30 years! :shock:

That's a beauty alright! Yeah, sad to think it hasn't been played in 30 years, but great that it's found a good home now.

I'm not sure, actually. Sometimes I've seen suffixes on model numbers that indicate the finish/color of the instrument but for the life of me I cannot figure it out in this case.

The image seems to have disappeared?

I agree Charles, the suffix normally would refer to the finish, at least on most Japanese guitars that I'm familiar with.
I can't remember what this guitar looks like now but AS might refer to Antique Sunburst?? Something like that.
