A heavily modified El Degas strat

On a whim, I searched for info about my old El Degas guitar and found this forum. Let me share the story and some pics of a guitar I will never part with.

This guitar was given to me by an ex-GF in the early 90s. She played a bit of guitar but had no use for an electric guitar. I gladly accepted the gift. However, the neck was badly bowed. I didn't have any qualms about modding the guitar so in the garbage the neck went. I had a reputable luthier here in Montréal make me a custom made neck for this guitar. The neck surpassed all my expectations and transformed a low-end guitar into a very serious guitar.

I then changed the pickups, from neck to bridge for these: Torres Engineering Blues Strat, Dimarzio HS-2 and Dimarzio Bluesbucker.

The last mod I did, since I almost never use the whammy bar, is to add two more springs (from 3 to 5) to the bridge block for added stability.

Here it is:

Hello City and thanks for the pix and story.
Not much of the original el Degas is left though...controls, bridge and body?
