My El Degas history

I'm actually surprised how many of these I've seen (and almost bought over the years) ... a Les Paul ... a koa Explorer that I'm still kicking myself for not buying ... a P-bass with truss rod adjustment at the body end ... and this. My P-bass. The truss rod is at the head end, small tuners, MIJ, stock DiMarzio pickup with phase switch, plywood body. Orignially 3-ply b/w/b pickguard with chrome knobs and screws, now single ply white pickguard with aged brass knobs and brass screws. Everything else stock ... had the frets dressed once after a brief affair with Rotosound strings. Sounds more Rickenbacker-ish than Fender-ish, and weighs a TON. Has to be at least 12 or 13 pounds. I had a strap button pull out and dropping the bass onto a pedal. Significant crack in the body repaired by handfuls of glue and some white paint. I think I bought this new in '79, '80 at the latest. I still use it frequently.

Would kill for the Rick bass copy or the Jazz bass copy. Literally. Call me.

It's always great to meet another EL Degas enthusiast :D

Hopefully someone will be able to provide those Rick & Jazz basses you've always wanted!
