New To The Site.. Looking For Some Info And/Or Thoughts

I ran into this forum while searching for some information on an El Degas that I own. I bought it off of an old friend a few years back with the intent of teaching myself how to "re-play". Unfortunately, she's done more sitting than playing.. but she still has an impeccable sound when I have picked her up. I was hoping someone might possibly have some information on her to help me out a wee bit... or even to steer me in the right direction. I've had a little bit of a hard time trying to track down anything on her.. I cannot seem to find a serial number on her so I'm at a loss. It's in pretty decent condition minus a few minor scratches and she's got some hefty weight to her as well. I'd love to find out just how old she is and maybe her value at present time.
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!!!
Many Thanks!!
Brandy

Are there any markings on the back of the headstock or neck plate about the country of manufacture?
It's most likely a mid-to-late 70's MIJ (Made in Japan) model, and is a Gibson SG copy.
Value: El Degas Gibson copies with bolt-on necks are normally listed anywhere between $150-400 on the internet, but usually sell between $150-250 depending on condition. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you for getting back to me so soon Charles!
It states that it was made in Korea on the back of the headstock "would that possibly change the model?". All of the information you provided though, is very informative! From the research that I've done, I had figured it was a 70's guitar but wasn't 100% certain. I've attempted taking it into guitar shops to have them take a look and help me out information wise, but each try proved about as fruitless as what I had found myself. Thanks so much!

The only thing the MIK changes is the date of manufacture - likely late 70s or early 80s.
The value might take a slight hit as well (MIJ is most in-demand), but the selling value of $150-250 depending on condition is still valid.
