El Degas MT 102 N

Post by Kironnis »

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about an El Degas guitar model number MT 102 N. I've found out that it's likely a Martin copy but that's about it. Basically just looking for information such as when it was produced, how many were made and what it might be valued at. Any other information is appreciated as well. Thanks all

Here's my standard "canned" response  for MT- models:

The MT- models are copies of Martin acoustics.

MT- models seem to usually list on the internet anywhere from $100-500 depending on the condition of the instrument, country of manufacture, and the level of motivation of the buyer. Many models sell for $150-250, but some may sell for more (particularly some of the more 'deluxe' 70's Japanese models with better fit & finish, which may sell for $200-500).

If you have a photos of the headstock & sound hole label I might be able to tell you the country of manufacture (or the sound hole label may have it listed).
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Hey Charles thanks for the response.

The guitar was definitely made in Romania. This model is almost exactly like an MT 103 (not sure if you've seen that one) but smaller, like a childrens guitar. I didn't think it would be worth much, just figured I should find out what I can. Thanks again

If it's a Romanian 3/4 size, I'd shoot for the 100-200 range, and take offers. My two cents, anyway. :)
