new Tele in the stable

Post by shakin »

Found this MIJ Tele copy on the local Kijiji. . Probably paid over the odds but they don't come up very often in my neck of the woods. A little battered around the edges and will need a bit of tlc but sounds pretty good.
No logo on the headstock, but at a certain angle you can see where it's been. If anyone has one PM me and let's see if we can work something out.

I can email you the vector file of the logo which you can have put onto a decal by your local supplier.
PM me your email and it'll be off to you soon as I can.

I wanted to upload it to a post in the forums but EPS files are not allowed by the system :(

I also have this same model of El Degas, and it was also missing the logo - what I did was had a fellow apply the logo as a waterslide decal on the headstock and apply a finish over it to protect it. I did not know back then that the original logo would have been gold, so I had it added in black. I like it in black on this guitar :)

Wow that is a great looking Tele... How do you like the sound vs a Fender Tele? Is the action similar to a real Tele?

Haven't played a REAL tele, but in the short time I've had the ED version I'd say it's coming in behind my Vantage VS-650 and Epi LP as far as action goes ( but that may change after I "tinker " with it). A very good sustain and variety of tones.

The one I have of this model needed a MAJOR overhaul when I received it. So bad that I sent it away to a luthier I knew through the HarmonyCentral forums back in the day.

I would expect so! It would have to be an extraordinary guitar to beat out the VS-650! I love my VS-600, and all the other Vantages in my collection for that matter. (big Matsumoku fan here, you know  )
