Greetings,
I am thinking about purchasing a beautiful ED that does not make reference to the country where it was manufactured. The model number is 'MT 13' and it is very much a Martin copy. Should I be concerned that the soundhole sticker does not have Japan, Korea, or Romania posted on it? The present owner is not the original owner and doesn't know much about the guitar, but states that it is at least thirty years old. The craftsmanship suggests to me that it could very well be a Japanese ED. Do you know if there were models made in japan that did not make reference to Japan on the soundhole sticker?
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Soundhole Sticker Information
I've found that when there is no mention of the country of manufacture on the sound hole label, it's usually made in Japan. Cannot be 100% sure without seeing photos of the guitar, of course
.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

Re: Soundhole Sticker Information
Thank you for your response. I am guessing Japan as well based on the craftsmanship. I am meeting the owner this evening. She informed me that her parents purchased the guitar in Simcoe in 1979 or 1980. The year it was purchased may shed further light on the location whereby it was manufactured. I will post photograhs if I make the acquisition.
