Re: Romanian acoustic, El Degas Guitar MT-203-N

I had bought a Romanian Hummingbird copy for $100, then sold it a month later for the same. It was not a very good guitar. I might even go as far as labeling it CRAP. It did, however, look nice.

Plexiglass Stratocaster copy (groovy)

I couldn't resist this one. I've been looking for one of these ever since I saw one in a guitar shop as a teenager in the early 80s. It sounds great, but it weighs a ton. I have it hung on the wall and I just can't stop looking at it... just oozes cool.

I have the red one and it truly sounds terrible. I don't know what is wrong with it. Yours must be in a lot better shape.

I wouldn't pay $350 for that. No way.

Re: Anyone know where this one was made?

I should mention the guy who bought it was quite happy with the purchase. He knew his way around the neck of a guitar, so I didn't rip him off or anything. Maybe he will be able to set it up and make it play great - who knows. But I don't think it will ever sound that great.

Re: Anyone know where this one was made?

Well, I ended up selling the guitar for $100, the same I paid for it. It was not a great guitar. Actually, it was kind of a piece of junk when it came down to the bottom line. It's really quite a hit-and-miss game with the El Degas brand.

And now for the Strat

I picked up this Strat copy about a month ago. I still can't decide whether I like it or not. It plays nicely, but there's something odd about it. I just can't put my finger on it. I am going to do a bit more tinkering with it to see if I can get it to where I want. It's a made in Japan model, but ...

My Les Paul copy

I have been meaning to post pics of the Les Paul copy I purchased a few months ago, so here they are. This guitar plays like a dream and sounds great. It is identical (except the colour) to my first guitar my dad bought me in 1982. I gave that one to my son and missed it so much I just had to have ...

Re: Anyone know where this one was made?

Yeah, I think I will throw some machine heads on it. It has a problem with the 13th fret - the low E string is dead on the 12th fret. I have never done any fret work before, and I don't think it's worth it to take it in, so I will probably sell it. What do you guys think it's worth, about $150?

I ...

Anyone know where this one was made?

I bought this off Kijiji the other day. Not bad, but not great either. It needs new machine heads and a setup. I think I may sell it in the near future. The sticker had been removed and replaced with a Dean Markley guitar string sticker, so I have no idea of the country of origin or the model number ...

Re: For Sale: LP Copy?

I have sent you a PM, wolf.

I hope it is still for sale. My son won't even lend me back my LP copy I gave him seven years ago. He doesn't even play it. I guess he feels I won't give it back. Smart kid. Anyway, I really miss my El Degas and I'd love to get my hands on another one.

Re: MT 10 acoustic

I also know nothing about Martin guitars, except my brother's Martin sounds amazing. I don't think this El Degas is in the same category, but it does play nicely and sounds good.
