Re: El Degas Thinline Tele .... info please?

I bet you'd like the S/H version, Barry. You still get a spanking Tele bridge single coil sound with a warm full neck HB.

Re: El Degas Thinline Tele .... info please?

I love Tele's and really like the look of the thinlines... I have two different models of this body style (both the S/H and the H/H configurations). Congrats on the guitar :D Not too sure on the era on these but it's generally believed to be the 1970s. The pickups are probably some generic Japanese ...

Re: MT4N - pricing?

B&J is so far removed from the old NYC days that I'm not surprised to hear that.

Re: MT4N - pricing?

B&J Music is now part of another company (no longer with Kaman) but the name escapes me at the moment.

Re: MT4N - pricing?

It is believed: El Degas instruments were made in Japan throughout the 1970s. The Korean models are believed to have started around the 1980s, possibly coinciding with B&J Music being sold to Kaman Music. Pricing of these instruments is pretty tough to pin down: These instruments are 30-50 years old...

I'm a big fan of mine, too. It's a small bass with a lot of character!

Re: El Degas MT3B

I've always been of the opinion that the later MIK MT- models are more of just general "Martin-esque" copies. As in, not a copy of a particular model, just a general Martin shape with different finishes and occasionally with a piezo pickup system.

That particular model may be a bit more of a widespread one; I owned 2 or 3 of them years ago.

Don't give up :) I hope this has a happy ending for you!

Re: SG copy - shot in the dark

What color was the SG, and was it a bolt-on neck model? It might help in case anyone out there has the particular model.

It would be pretty amazing if you were able to reunite with the guitar, it's a long shot but you never know!

Re: EL DEGAS GB@%

It's getting tougher to give an estimated value on El Degas guitars. There is a range of models where the demand can be higher or lower for the specific body style you're selling. They are old enough now that the condition may or may not play a significant role in the worth. The market is now being ...

Hi Barry! Traffic has definitely dropped off... so much so that I had not even noticed my emails for eldegas.com had not been delivered to me   I hope the drop off of visitors and questions means the forum provides a decent amount of info for people so they are not needing to reach out, ...

The set neck MIK models are ok (I own one), but note that in my experience I've found that they do have plywood bodies.
