Hi kocamaya, and thanks for your pictures.
That's an unusual finish.
I don't think I've seen a clear wood grain finish like that on El Degas before. How long have you had it?
Hey Charles, I see that the neck has a scarf joint. Was this normal for a MIJ in 1974? I'd think it'd be more like a MIK? The headstock looks like a vintage Gibson copy though with the open book design, but the body somehow doesn't "feel" 70's.

From what I've seen of the headstock treatments like that one has (logo style), I'd say mid 70's MIJ.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

Some nice chops there. It ended a bit abruptly, but sounded DAMN good.

Hey kocamaya thanks for the clip! Terrific sound there, nice and bluesy!
You are the first member to post a sound clip of his El Degas, so congratulations on that too!
By the way what amp & effects are you using?
(Hey Charles, maybe you could move the clip to the thread that I tried to start on sound clips? Might get better exposure there, and encourage others to contribute.)

Hmm, I don't seem to have a control to copy a post to another topic in my bag o' tricks... all I can do is encourage kocamaya to copy his youtube link in a new post in http://www.eldegas.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ilit=clipsBarry wrote:Hey Charles, maybe you could move the clip to the thread that I tried to start on sound clips? That won't work - it only lets you move the post completely, not copy.Barry wrote:Try this:charles wrote:...Hmm, I don't seem to have a control to copy a post to another topic in my bag o' tricks...
