Re: Taro, MIJ guitars
I have not heard of Taro, but there seem to be so many 70's MIJ white label brands it's hard to tell one from the other sometimes. With any of the 70's MIJ white label guitars, I like to try to get my hands on them whenever possible before buying, so I can tell if it's a good resonating player or not.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Re: Taro, MIJ guitars
No direct experience with them, but from what little I've heard they're decently made instruments out of the "golden age" of MIJ guitars.
There were so many white labels coming out of the Japanese factories at this time that it's near impossible to track them all. Not all of these were winners though, so as Charles suggests, try and get your hands on it first. You may be pleasantly surprised...or not.
