Help me identify my banjo!

Post by banjoruth »

I bought this banjo yesterday at a used music store in montreal. I am having a lot of trouble finding any information on how much it would have costed new & what model number it is. If anyone has any information please enlighten me!

Unfortunately I don't believe I have ever seen model numbers stamped or printed on the banjo models. If there was anything it would likely be stamped or on a label on the back of the headstock or near the neck heel.

I can tell you that what you have is a MIJ (Made in Japan) model - the logo style on the headstock tells me this much (but no more  ).

I am not clear on what the original retail price was on banjo models.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
