Does anyone know anything about this item? I have had an El Degas accustic guitar for over 40 years - still in great shape. Inside it says: Mocel No. GL31 and in the " Series no" - nothing. There is a number inside on the neck block: 250875.
Any info appreciated. BJ
Over 40 yr old El Degas
Re: Over 40 yr old El Degas
Are you sure about the age? The years most prevalent for El Degas are the mid 70's (~30 yrs old). I don't know of any confirmed 1960's guitars with this brand, but it is possible.
The thing about El Degas is that since no real records have survived, and they did not use a traceable serial numbering system to begin with, there is no real way to confirm the age / date of manufacture of these guitars.
I've seen a GL31 before - really nice looking guitars. How does she play?

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
