1973 ElDegas Modelo 303

Post by Prairiedog5875 »

Hi..I'm new here ..I have a Modelo 303. Which I guess is the same as a GB-27 . It's a copy of Gibson Heritage Custom acoustic drednought.
I've had the guitar 15 years . I'll post some pictures later this week after I shine her up.

Does anyone know why mine is a Model 303 and not a GB27?... were they sold in a different area?
Was it originally called the 303 and changed later to GB-27?

I'm no expert but it appears to be solid wood .
3 piece back . Big rectangular inlays on the neck.
Mustash bridge . teardrop pickguard. Open book style headstock. ..I'd say above average condition for its almost 50 years.

I'd guess that yours may be from before they moved to the more standard (and easily understandable) model nomenclature of MT-/GL-/GB-?

I'm interested to see the photos, let me know if you need help when you go to post them (you need to host them on a site like Imgur, Flickr, etc and post IMG tags in your post). If possible, please include a photo of the sound hole label.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
