Grabber Bass
Re: Grabber Bass
Nice. I have that same model. The sliding pickup was an interesting idea, though I tend to have it where I like it and not move it. Definitely one of the Gibson black sheep models to replicate!
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

My pick up hasnt moved since I placed it in the sweet spot.
Re: Grabber Bass
You nailed it - there is absolutely a sweet spot! Once you find it, the sliding pickup feature seems pretty redundant

Wow Pierre, that is an oldie! Odd looking beast, new to moi.
Happy to see you still at it (how's the storage in your new place, ready to move or add on yet?)

Re: Grabber Bass
Good luck with that.
I know what you mean. I haven't found any Matsumoku, Vintage, or el Degas guitars locally in a very long time....Love my hobbies to much to just stop...
So I have had to compensate by picking up a Squire Bullet Mustang, a Epiphone LP SL, and just this week, a Squire affinity Jazzmaster!
Not too expensive, fun guitars to play, and the Jazzmaster is fantastic!
Thanks Pierre. I wish that it were so, but I had an attack of acute pancreatitis and spent June in the Hospital. I'm still recovering very slowly at home and I'm looking at surgery to remove my gall bladder! *sigh*Hope health and life has been treating you well!
You got that right mon ami!!I know your married so in pain is to be expected !!!
