I purchased a GL 36 today in Calgary and am very happy with it.
Is there a way to determine the age based on the serial number?
The label does not state MiJ but it includes the B&J logo bottom right so I assume it is a Japanese model.
Regardless, it plays very well.
I'll post an image once I learn how.

Re: A new to me GL 36
There is no info on the serial number system so it does not help in trying to make an educated guess on the era of manufacture. Photos are the best help as there are telltale signs I can use to try to provide some info.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
