It's very close to my GB25 but does not have the MOP logo, the double trapezoidal position markers, the MOP inlays on the bridge wings, or the centre mosaic stripe down the centre of the back. And the red finish does not appear to be as vibrant on the back either.
The deal with the GB-22 is that's the later MIK model. I had one, it was definitely not up to par with the more deluxe MIJ ones.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
I have an EL Degas GB 26 as well. Bought it in St. John's, Newfoundland Canada in 1975 at a local music store here. I've travelled around the world and took this one with me. Tough old bird it is. I've since bought higher end acoustics (Washburn as well as a 1971 Martin D28). But I still go to this one. Just changed cleaned the fret board and changed the strings. Sounds great. When my friends play it, they say 'Man, this thing sounds fine'. And they're right.
So I did a google search on the model number and came across this thread. Thought I'd share.Hope the picture URL works. Not sure about that. i can share via email if you provide email address.
