Classical CL48

I picked this guitar up about 12 years ago for $80.00, and it also included a hard shell case. I had to put a new set of machine heads on the guitar, but aside from that it was in perfect working condition. No serious cracks and the bridge, heal and bracing was solid.
From what I can tell, it is an MIJ guitar, likely from the 70's.
What I know for certain is that this guitar plays like a much more expensive guitar. I have NEVER picked up a classical guitar in a music store that feels or sounds this good. It is perfect for my needs.
What I find odd is that there appears to be two serial numbers on this guitar. Aside from the one on the label in the soundhole (4010042), there is also want stamped in the neck/heal inside the guitar (S 822115).
If anyone can explain this to me I would appreciate it.
My hunch is that the inside serial number may be the original manufacturer. I know these are white labelled guitars, but to find a 2nd serial number is odd - almost as if it was not intended to get the El Degas name on it at all. Or - is this the manufacturer model number?
