Scored on a ES345 El Degas

I just found this one in a foreclosed home I bought, other than wear on the pickups its in great shape. I had the local guitar shop shim the neck, replace the saddles & set it up & now it plays absolutely wonderful. I installed some gibson classic 57 & 57+ pickups & it sounds amazing. Heres a crappy cell phone picture but I will post more later.

Here is the new pictures of the ES345 copy with the gibson 57 classic & 57 classic plus pickups. So far I have had the saddles replaced, the neck shimmed & the three way switch replaced. I dont know if it was worth putting the money into it but it plays great & sounds amazing..im in in about $300.00 now. Im considering replacing th tuners but I can live with them for now.

I have the red one and it truly sounds terrible. I don't know what is wrong with it. Yours must be in a lot better shape.

I know when I had my 345 it had DImarzio Super Distortion pickups in it (stock)... hardly what I'd call ideal pickups for a semi hollow guitar!!! I wonder, is yours set up in the same way?

I put a classic gibson 57 in the neck position & a classic 57 plus pickup on the bridge position. Now it sounds amazing, I would recomend this upgrade to anyone who has a ES335-345. You cant tell in th picture but mine is a burgundy color & looks great & plays great. I had it set up at the local quitar shop, they shimmed the neck,re-adjusted the bridge, replaced the saddles & replaced the 3 way switch. Its really a nice guitar now & a real joy to play...I almost like it as much as my 76 gibson les paul custom

Sounds like you've got it just "right" now Kent!
Acoustic electrics are making a come back it appears. Many young guitar players are featuring them these days. And with good reason, they have an authentic vintage sound. I have a "real" ES330 with P90's and it's just amazing. So much so that I installed P90's in an MIK Aria Pro II "330" I picked up not long ago. They would be wrong for this guitar though. You've made the right choice here.
Well done.

Can't see the pics you posted (perhaps you can rehost on imgur?) but I'd love to. I've got a sunburst one, stock pickups. Replaced the bridge and tuners, and the pickguard broke off (she's my main playing axe). Best guitar I've ever had, hands down.

Probably my fault. I've been making some changes to the forum to combat spambots and removing the ability to attach photos to posts directly (as opposed to posting images hosted on an image site such as photobucket or imgur) was one of the changes.
