What is with people anyway...would you try and sell a filthy car or house?
For Pete's sake, clean off the dust!!
Other than that, and missing knobs, looks OK though. (can't get too excited about the Peavy)

Close to me , but that poor thing looks like it was found under something. Looks like someone drilled a hole for a coil tap......push pull pots are so much cleaner.

Stock.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Mini toggle switches for coil tapping and phase shifting were common on Japanese made guitars in the 70's and early 80's. The push-pull pots replaced them a bit later. I have several Matsumoku guitars with both arrangements.

The mini-toggle coil tap is a stock feature, not a user-modification.

offered him $100 for it but he is a lot farther away than I thought. About and hours drive then a ferry and a bit more of a drive. Gonna have to think about it after he gave me a little more info. Toggle is snapped off , truss rod may be stripped/broken and the nut is cracked. Not sure if I am into that much of a resto right now.

Yikes.
I always consider truss rod problems way more than a problem I am capable of handling

Speaking with him I don't think the rod is bad - the strings he says keep sliding off an the top part is loose he says (the nut is clearly off center because of the missing strings. He sent me 8 hi res pictures of the guitar. I see why he didn't clean the dust off of it. The entire body is peppered with dings, scratches and gouges. Some are really deep. The back of the neck is badly dinged up. It would need to be stripped , sanded and refinished , too bad because it would be hard to recreate the nice sunburst it has. If anyone wants to see the pics I can shrink them and post them but I have passed on this one.

Yes, unfortunately this one is closer to the firewood bin than many. :( It happens.

I might just be sensitive to it, but I think lately I've noticed a lot more "trashy" guitars coming out of the woodwork on the classifieds sites - I thin kit's the equally trashy economy making people look around a bit closer for things to liquidate. :( :(
