Hummingbird 12 string GB24

Post by adam »

Here's a Gibson Hummingbird (copy) 12 string GB24 from the 1970s. This is the one I learned on. My father got it sometime in the early 70s but not sure of the exact date. Recently restored, thoroughly cleaned, with a new tusq saddle and bone nut. I couldn’t find a 12 string tusq nut that would fit properly so got a bone blank and hand sanded/shaped/filed it, which was a first for me.

This is also the same model as matty, posted on here. He sure lucked-out finding one!

Had to take out the garbage plastic nut that was there since the 70s

Very nice.

Not too sure how I feel about the 'burst on that one, but it sure looks like a nice guitar.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
