I am selling my El Degas dreadnaught F218. It is a beautiful guitar in excellent condition. Someone on this forum suggested it might be made of an endangered mahogany that is rarely seen on guitars anymore. The original owner said he bought the guitar in 1977 and basically kept it under his bed for most of that time

I just got this guitar in January and it is in gorgeous condition and sounds beautiful. I took it with me to the local big box guitar store (to get a hardshell case for it) and compared it to a real Martin ( it is modeled after a Martin) That $1000 Martin didn't hold a candle to this El Degas! This instrument is a real joy to play. I just don't want to be bothered babying a solid wood instrument. I am only a beginner and want something that I can leave sitting out on a stand all the time and not worry about humidity or getting knocked over. (The laminate Yamaha cheepo I got on clearance suits the bill just fine) This is too nice a guitar for me and I want it to go to a home where it will be appreciated.
The guitar is at my local small music store to sell on consignment. "Violins by Mitchel" (actually sells more vintage guitars than violins at times!) He takes a very small commision so the guitar will still be a great deal. A fraction of what you would pay for a Martin. I just didn't want to deal with shipping. I have a hardshell case that is plush lined and has rings to attach a shoulder strap. I paid $100 for this case that fits the guitar perfectly. I never took the case out of the house and in fact the original protective plastic sheath around the handle is still in place. It is indistinguishable from new. I will add that to the guitar for $50. If you are interested please call Mitch (he's a real nice guy) at 856-216-9299 Haddonfield, NJ

Best of luck on the sale - it's a really nice looking guitar
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
