El degas MT13
El degas MT13
I curently have a El degas MT13 my grandfather bought it for my mother in the 70s as a starter guitar ( price back then was 400 $ ) my mom never used it and it has been stored in a hard case up untill 3-4 years ago when i got it, and started playing it. i will post pictures later when i get around to takin them lol. but the guitar is in perfect condition ( except the strings are dead in wich i need to get a new set for it . ) i was wondering if i could get an opnion on what the guitar is curently worth.

I'll have to see the photos before I can give my opinion on the worth (for what it's worth
).
If it's what I think it is (a really nice MIJ Martin copy - again I have to see the photos before I know whether it's MIJ or not), it's probably worth, more or less, the same as it cost back in the 70's... $300-500, depending on condition and whether you find a motivated buyer.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

Re: El degas MT13
I have a picture of my MT-13.
I wonder if its the guitar you're thinking of. it plays pretty good (although i have recently bought a new acoustic Taylor to replace its frustrating inconsistency and fickleness), I have no intention of parting with it, and i am seeing about getting the tuners replaced and the bridge refastened and its lifting off the body a bit. but if its from the 70's that's pretty impressive the condition it remains in. this was my dads and now he's gone i'll never know where he got it from..

Hi incubusamy, you have a MIJ (Made in Japan) Martin copy. Thanks for sharing some photos.
