A stop into my favourite pawn shop today produced a great find. A MIJ El Degas MT17 in immaculate shape. Virtually no scratches or fret wear. I simply pulled the strings, polished the frets and oiled the fret board. I paid $140 taxes in with a hard case, strap, and set of strings included. Made my day. I now have an MT18 & MT17 model. It has the great tone I expected for over 35 year old wood.
The original sales receipt and tags were in the case. Sold Dec 27th, 1980 Neds TV & Sound Lab. Bathurst Shopping Mall. Bathurst New Brunswick, Canada.

I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
