Gorgeous - I've been after a thinline Tele copy for some time. Congrats on getting one.

How'd it end up in your basement? :?:
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

I guess one of my dad's friends from college or something picked it up to learn guitar and gave up and just left it at our house. for whatever reason we kept it around for two moves and it was our "faker" guitar as it had no bridge or strings and the pickguard was falling out. I actually used to use it as a practice guitar for wild stage moves. Recently I was looking for a project and realized it just needed a bridge ($10), tuners ($20) and pickups ($20 each). screwed the bridge on as close as i could for eyeing it, wired it up, and put on the strings and amazingly it played SOOOO NICE! 20 years of sitting around in a basement and the neck is still perfectly straight and the action is perfect! One of my friends who swears by Les Pauls keeps asking me to sell it to him.

Im really surprised how awesome this knock-off is! Ive played real american teles and theyre just not as much fun as this!

HI lerxst88, nice to have you here.
But that picture is a tease! How about some more, brighter and clearer? I don't think I've seen one of these before and it really needs to be documented. This is too good a story to bury under just one fuzzy pic!

Good on ya for restoring her to her former glory! You've got Charles all a-tingle now.

If you are still enterested in a thinline tele, I have one that I'm looking over for a friend. It needs a new nut, new pots and a little fret work, but it sounds good and seems like it would play well if the frets and nut were taken care of so the action could come down a bit. She is looking to get rid of it. Let me know if you are interested.
