This is my first post here. I just purchased a MIK LP Custom style ElDegas, I'm really pleased with it. Apparently everything is original. It sounds great - the bridge pup is airy and crunchy, way better then I thought it would sound. Neck pup is a bit muffled but it sounds great together w/the bridge PUP. I see another member recently posted pics of one of these - I wonder if mine has the long tenon as well.

these are the photos that were posted by the seller. They are certainly better than anything I would have come up with. Thanks Steve!
Both of my El Degas LP Custom copies are MIJ, but given the chance I'd have gotten a MIK had one crossed my path.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

If you haven't watched "This is Spinal Tap", it's gone right over your head (or if you have watched it, the pic hasn't shown up correctly).

Well, I own this now, as of April 3, 2010. I plan to try it out at band levels this week and will let you know how it cuts. Up to now I played mostly a Strat loaded with Kinman MK-2 pickups and will probably continue to use it for some tunes. I play through a Fender Vibro King amp, which has a non-fender sound to it. It's a great amp, but heavy.
Anyway, back to the El Degas - you know what... I can see these as collector pieces in the not too distant future, just for the lore of an "almost" Gibson lawsuit hanging over it. I plan to keep this guitar and experiment with different styles to see where it fits best.
I'm old enough to remember these hit the market and snubbing them because they were fakes. The fellow that sold it to me claimed it was a 1972, but I doubt that very much, given that it was made in Korea. Regardless, I've played and owned lot of quality guitars over the years and I really like this one. The pictures say it all.
I have not seen any dating stamps anywhere on it, although I have not dismantled it yet - there might be something hidden away somewhere.
