1972 El Degas P Bass
1972 El Degas P Bass
I bought this guy new in 1972. It wasn't that much cheaper than a real Fender P bass of the day. Its been through a lot. It lost its frets thanks to Jaco's first album in '76. Its had a bunch of different electronics but I've had a Hi-A humbucker ( originally a guitar pickup) in there a few times, now its staying. I currently have it tuned higher (A-D-G-C, tenor style) and I took off the tortoise shell photoguard. Its always been a great feeling bass, 37 years later, its no different.

Wow, that bass has certainly been personalized - very cool!
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
