Okay I'm not sure if these pictures will work but i'm gonna give it a shot! I'm hoping you guys might know how to date this guitar to a specific year? I'm not even sure if it has any type of serial# on it. I found it the other day at the local pawn shop while me and the drummer were looking for a snare (they always show up when your not looking eh?) anyways hopefully i can get these pictures to work...
There's unfortunately not a lot of info to be had on these guitars. I'm always hoping to find more info but it's pretty difficult.
OK, so it's Made in Korea - I figured it was even before I saw the stamped neckplate due to the logo style on the headstock. This most likely makes it somewhere in the very late 70's or even early 80's.
That's about all I can tell ya!
How does she play? Do you feel like you're channeling Jimmy Page when you play that baby?!
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.
El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42 (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
I was really suprised at how low the action was, I'm used buying a guitar and then adjusting the intonation, neck, bridge the works, but this one was perfect. The middle pickup, although cool, does get abit annoying after bumping the pick of it a couple dozen times (maybe thats why the plating is worn off!)

190$ after taxes,
at first i was a bit unsure of the bolt on neck, but of course the fact that it [/i]is a black beauty i decided to go for it. It needs a trim ring for the middle pickup (wrong size) and a couple of the pots need to be cleaned. I did add up a set of black tophats knobs to replace the speed knobs (way more vintage).
I can't exactly tell, would this be a poly finish or is it nitro? It has some cracks in the finish and some chips on the back that make me think that its nitro...?
thanks for the comments!
regards, Andrew

Hard to say whether it's poly or nitro... I suppose you could try an acetone test in a non-conspicuous area such as inside the control cavity.
