El Dégas SG pick up change

Post by patricklac »

Hi,

I'm thinking about changing one of my pick up and I'm looking at a Dimarzio Super Distorsion. Found one used in good condition for 80 $

Is this a good idea?

Depends on the sound you are going for - the Super Distortion is a pretty hot pickup that gives you a distorted/overdriven sound easier than most. If that's what you like, you'll probably be pretty happy with it. If you want nice cleans, I find it's tough to achieve with that pickup through most amps.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
