Ancient El Degas Memories

Post by Degaslore »

Hi All....photo featuring my white El Degas Stratocaster from around 1980 when I was a skinny teen. The black P-bass is also El Degas and belonged to a friend. My double neck an Ibanez, the arch-top a Harmony and the acoustic a Yamaha. All these guitars have been scattered in the wind. Would love to be reunited with this Stratocaster !!! Photo taken in Ancaster, Ontario at the ruins of a mansion known as The Hermitage.

Myself around 1980, age 16 trying to impress the lady with rock star pose along with trusty El Degas.

Not the greatest photo quality. Old camera from long ago. There was still a slim chance that The Beatles may get back together when these photos were taken?

Awesome. All these folks with their Instagram filters don't hold a candle to the real thing
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

I go waaay back, even further than this 30 odd years , so I didn't think I'd be so nostalgic about 1980...but yes, real geetars, and real film!

The kind of film that we had to take in for developing unless of course we had our own dark room? Nor was there any of that one-hour-photo back then !! Now if only I could find that old photo of my white El Degas flanked by my Mann Les Paul and my buddy`s Granada Les Paul. I`ll keep looking. I`m sure you guys remember those old Traynor Studio Mate guitar amps that were all over the place? Mine was a combo with a 4x8 cabinet. YGM-3 I believe was the designation? Now that`s nostalgia !!
