Two Jumbo 200 models under different logos

Post by Barry »

Now this is a coincidence!
I followed the link in Charles' post below for the MT at Goodwill. Not bad.
But get this! I did some browsing and I came across a listing for a "Global extra Deep acoustic Guitar".
EDIT:
In my haste I just realized that I forgot to give the URL (duh!)

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Gl ... 46693.html

Turns out, this is identical to the "Gibson J200 Jumbo" listing by El Dougo here: http://www.eldegas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=211

The only difference is the name on the headstock (Global) and the colours on the pick guard flowers! :D
First we see a rare version of this guitar under the El Degas brand and now, another one. What are the odds, eh?
The only downer is that they don't ship internationally (haven't checked to see if that applies to Canada).

edit:
This is getting nuts!
No sooner had I written the above post than I found yet another Jumbo in this finish! This time it's under the Mann logo:

This one is in Quebec!

(Shakes head in amazement)

They are similar but there are many glaring differences from the El Degas. Note the differences in headstock binding, headstock inlay placement, fretboard inlays, truss rod cover (the Mann doesn't have one!) and some other differences.

They might be from the same factory, but it's hard to say for sure.
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Quite right Charles. I was rushing this post and didn't pay close enough attention! I suspect the Mann's TR is adjusted from inside the sound hole. I have a Japanese Vantage built the same way.

I also neglected to give the URL of the Global version on Goodwill's site! I edited the original post above.
It does look more like the ED version.
