Does any know this one?

Post by 2manyguitars »

I bought this in Calgary in the early 90's, just because it looked cool.
Sounds Ok, so so tuners, kind of fun with the coils and humbucker.
Does any body know the Model?

That's a MIK (made in Korea) HSS Strat copy, with a whang-o headstock that was all the rage back in the 80s 8) .
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Charles,
Thanks for the info,
Nice to know, sort of makes me want to start a 80's hair band.
At the moment it must be the most traveled El degas in the world,
The picture of it, is from my study in Cairo.

As Charles says, that headstock design is a hangover from the "pointy guitar" and "big hair/spandex" era of the 80's. Never cared much for them myself, especially on a classic strat body. Hey! You could put out an eye with that!
