my little acoustic degas

i have a small parlor style degas that my aunt and uncle gave me 8 years ago. it had been in their attic in indiana in the states for 15 years. they don't remember where it came from but they used to live in ontario and were draft dodgers/hippies and have probably had it for a long time. it has a model number sticker inside and a "made in japan" sticker on the head stock.
soon after acquiring it, i took it to a guitar shop that specializes in acoustics and had it set up nicely. they mentioned it was probably worth more as "parts" than a whole. it has brazilian rose wood sides and back and neck/headstock. not sure what the top is made of. it is in very good condition despite its early years of neglect. no cracks or dings. i've babied it.
it's not been played much due to the action which is very high and i find it quite difficult to play. more experienced players don't seem to mind but i'm ready to sell it. i have no interest in selling it for parts. i have a fondness for this guitar but need different/new gear and it would be better off in someone's hands who will play it! the tone is bright and surprisingly loud for it's small body.
pure acoustic - no pickups or anything. i have pics but can't figure out how to post. please help. i'd love to hear any feedback about the value/history...from my research it seems history on these things is fairly mysterious.
thanks much!
