ED 70s MIJ Tobacco Les Paul Custom

Post by CorpClegg »

$265. I was specifically looking for a Tobacco Les Paul.

This one seems to have nice build quality. The condition is excellent, very little fret wear. The headstock logo is inlaid Mother of Pearl like the fret markers. At first I thought it was a decal but you can see it's slightly recessed into the neck, just like the fret markets.

The neck binding runs up onto the fret similar to a real Les Paul. Pots are clear and smooth.

It needs a setup. A previous owner went with very light strings and didn't adjust the neck. It actually has a very slight backbow which causes mild buzzing all over the neck. I'm sure a setup will get it sounding killer.

Thanks for sharing!
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)
